A compounding pharmacy is a specialised branch of pharmacy that prepares customised medications to meet the unique needs of individual patients.
Appropriately licensed and practising physicians who are medically trained can prescribe compounded medications. To achieve optimal results, book a consultation with a doctor from our panel of highly qualified doctors.
Almost any kind of prescription can be compounded so long as it is not patented by a pharmaceutical company. For many patients requiring unique dosages and/or delivery devices, which can take the form of solutions, suppositories, sprays, troches, cream or lollipops these alternatives can be significantly life-altering. Compounded applications include: bio-identical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT), veterinary, pediatrics, dermatology, chronic pain management and so much more.
Compounded medication may or may not cost more than conventional medications. In most cases, the compounded medication can cost less than conventional mass marketed medication in instances where small doses are compounded or ingredient costs are low.
Most prescriptions can be filled within 3-4 working days. However, some compounded medications may take longer time to prepare. If we need to contact your healthcare provider or order a special ingredient, the processing may be extended by a few additional days.
Prescriptions can be electronically sent to us via email or WhatsApp; please contact us at +603-6211-8868 for the details. For all first-timer, we are required to verify the practising license of the prescriber before we could proceed. At the same time, the prescription will also be reviewed by our licensed pharmacists for compatibility assessment. Thereafter, we will reach out to you directly to collect payment before we could proceed with the compounding, which usually takes 3-4 working days. When your order is ready, you will be notified a day before delivery or self-collection can be made at our office in Publika.
We source all our ingredients from TGA- and/or FDA-licensed pharmaceutical wholesalers, using only pharmaceutically-registered materials. Every ingredient is supplied with a Certificate of Analysis so that we are assured of its purity and quality.
Bio-identical hormones are (usually plant-based) hormone substances that have the same molecular structure and chemical composition as the hormones naturally produced by your body.
When prescribed and monitored by a licensed, BHRT-qualified healthcare provider, bioidentical hormones are generally considered safe for most people as they are exactly identical to the hormones our body naturally produces. Essentially, BHRT is replacing the hormones that our body is losing and this can relieve symptoms of hormone imbalance (like menopause, andropause, thyroid issues, and/or polycystic ovarian syndrome).
Take for example: A woman’s hormonal balance is ideally in a dynamic equilibrium that shifts from day to day, week to week, and through the years. Customised hormones can be adapted to fit a woman’s individual needs. Hormone therapy can assist in alleviating symptoms and balancing hormone levels. Compounded hormones can be made in a wide variety of dosage forms and strengths. These delivery systems include capsules, creams, gels, sprays, suppositories, and sublingual lozenges/drops.
When you give your body the support it needs, it can effectively reset itself, because it is equipped and programmed for balance and wellness. So we recommend beginning with the gentlest form of support possible to allay your discomfort and tweaking it as you go. We will support you in any way we can, each step of the way. The good news is that women, and men alike, can feel incredibly well right through menopause and andropause respectively.
We will be more than happy to provide you with a practitioner referral and answer any questions you may have. Kindly reach out to us at (03)6211-8868 or email us at info@aslpharma.asia for more information or to learn more about our panel doctors.
Yes, testing your hormone levels can be helpful, but it’s only one part of the overall picture. Your symptoms, medical history, and overall well-being are just as important in determining what’s right for you. Bio-identical hormone therapy is best tailored through both lab results and a detailed clinical assessment. Your healthcare provider will guide you on whether testing is needed before starting treatment and how often to repeat it to ensure your therapy stays safe and effective.
